629,783. Heating stoves. SMITH & WELLSTOOD, Ltd., and BELL, R. Nov. 27, 1947, No. 31403. [Class 126] In a heating stove of the type in which a boiler is incorporated in the back of the firebox the opening to the flue being behind the boiler, accessibility to the flue is provided by an aperture in the back of the firebox opposite the flue. As shown the firebrick back 6 of the firebox 2 of the stove 1 has formed therein an aperture 5 closable by means of a plug 7 thereby providing access to the flue opening 4. In a modification in which the bottom of the boiler 3 is below the level of the bottom of the flue the aperture 5 is formed in the boiler. The plug may be of firebrick, cast iron, or other heat resisting material.
