Magnetically relieving pressure.-The armature of the driving electromotors of spinning-spindles is so adjusted that, during working, it is drawn upwards into the magnetic field of the stator and the pressure on the footstep bearing h is relieved. The stator casing i is mounted on the sleeve b of the spindle bearing, which is supported by a spring e and is normally held in position by a spring bolt c. In the case of flyer spindles, the armature may be 'mounted between two bearings.
