Abstract

212,189. Crossley Motors, Ltd., and Wishart, T. D. Aug. 25, 1923. Disc wheels.-Two aluminium castings F, G each forming half the rim and half of all the spokes are mounted on a steel hub H. The castings are secured by bolts D, D', and one or more strengthening discs E, J may be clamped between the castings and secured by rivets J<1> to a flange on the hub. In a modification, the strengthening discs are dished, the peripheries of the discs being clamped together, and the e central portions separated by distance pieces. In another form a single disc E is used, and a modification is described in which the discs are omitted, the flange on the hub being extended so as to be clamped between the castings, the bolts D passing through the flange.
