Revolving-cylinder pumps. -Hydraulic power transmission mechanism of the type described in the parent Specification comprises primary and secondary pumps having radial cylinders 109, Fig. 1, and 155, Fig. 3, respectively, disposed adjacent to the axes of rotation, the respective pistons being connected to rotors 120, 152. The ports in the cylinder ends are smaller than the ports in the distributing valves, and the crank-pin 160 of the secondary pump is adjusted from a shaft 180 through bevel gears and screw-and-nut mechanism. When the apparatus is applied to locomotives, the axes of the primary and secondary pumps 110, 150, Fig. 5, are longitudinally and transversely disposed respectively, the rotors of the pumps are geared to shafts 140. 143 connected by bevel bearing, and the locomotive wheels are driven from the shaft 143.
