Abstract

207,240. Lake, A. E. Aug. 19, 1922. Oscillating - cylinder p u m p s ; actuating pumps by hand power. -A hand operated air p u m p comprises a wheeled frame supporting one or more cylinders the pistons of which are connected by their rods between the ends of a handlever pivoted on the frame and adapted to be moved from an approximately vertical position at the end of the suction stroke to an approximately horizontal position at the end of the compression stroke. The pump D is actuated by a lever B pivoted to its piston-rod, the lever being moved from the vertical to the horizontal position to effect the compression stroke and the pump being oscillated. In a modification, the pump is fixed and the lever pivoted at one end to a pair of links, the other ends of which are pivoted to or near the front of the cylinder, the end of the piston rod being pivoted at an intermediate point to the lever. The frame is formed with two front feet and one rear foot, and with a handle A' by which it may be propelled on wheels A<4>. The pump may be simple or compound. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 201,946.
