Abstract

303,287. Slade, L. W. Jan. 23, 1928. Actuating oscillating cylinder pumps by hand. -The cylinder 2 of an air pump is moved over the piston 3 by a lever 4<b>, the piston rod being pivoted to the lower part of a portable frame 6 and within the side uprights. The bell crank lever arm with the cylinder and swivelling piston rod gives a toggle action. The handle, 4 is adjustable for length in the socket 4d of the lever. The piston rod is hollow and connects with a flexible delivery pipe 16 which can be clipped at 16a on the handle. A Bourdon gauge 15 is provided. The lever arm 4b may consist of two side plates which can be locked by a catch 12. The bell crank lever may be in two pieces angularly adjustable to suit operators of different heights. Road wheels 11 may be mounted on the frame.
