Alarm and like mechanism. - A time-controlled feeding-appliance for animals comprises an alarm clock mechanism which, at a predetermined time, releases the doors n of food-con. tainers n<1>, n<2>. The timing-apparatus consists of an hour-wheel a<2>, Fig. 4, turning on a stud a, Fig. 3, and having frictionally connected thereto a clock-face c and one or more hands b<1>, b<2>. The clock face is so set that a fixed pointer c<6> indicates the correct time. The hands b<1>, b<2> move with the clock face and are set at the hours at which food is to be released. At the given hour a pin c<2> on the hand b<2> moves an arm c<3> and turns a spindle c<4> carrying a projection d that moves a lever d<1>. The curved arm of this lever engages a member e<2> and turns a spindle e that carries an arm to release the wheel j<2> on the spindle d<3> which is connected to the shaft m<1>, Fig. 1. The spindle c<4> may carry the arm which releases the wheel j<2>, the intermediate mechanism being dispensed with.
