Abstract

Washing-machines with closed rotary receptacles.-A container 10 of rectangular or other cross-section is supported on a collapsable frame 31 by substantially diagonally opposite pintles 23, 24 carried in brackets 21, 22. The upper pintle 23 is made hollow to form a steam passage, and the lower pintle is recessed to receive an operating-lever 25. The lid 17 is carried by a U- shaped flange at the top of the receptacle, packing 15 and pin-and-slot connections 16, 19 being provided to ensure a tight joint. The frame comprises angle-bars 27 pivoted to cross-bars 34, 37, connected by bolts 36, and is of such dimensions that when collapsed it may be housed within the receptacle 10.
