Abstract

<PICT:0475194/III/1> <PICT:0475194/III/2> In a dry-cleaning machine liquid is raised by lifters 7 on the rotary receptacle 3 and is forced, by a deflecting surface on the stationary casing 1, through the perforations in the receptacle. The deflecting surface may be formed by arranging the receptacle to rotate about an axis A eccentric to and above the axis B of the stationary casing as in Fig. 2, or it may be formed by a curved or straight baffle plate 11 as in Fig. 4. Additional baffles 12, 13, 14, 15 may also be provided, the tips of the baffles successively approaching the periphery of the receptacle more closely.
