Abstract

200,935. Torii, K., and Torii, S. April 26, 1922. Knock-down boxes. -A collapsable box body or lid of square or polygonal shape is formed from a rectangular blank 1 - - 4 having a series of deep triangular flaps 1<a> 4<a> projecting from one of the longer sides of the rectangle and cut so that one side is shorter than the other side 15-16, and so that the shorter side, if extended, would meet the side 15-16 of the adjacent flap; a small reentering gap is thus left between the flaps and the flaps when overlapped in succession meet at the centre 29 of the base of the body or top of the lid and interlock, the last flap interlocking with the first. The number of flaps correspond to the number of sides in the box or lid, and the blank may have flaps along both of its longer sides so as to form both the base and lid or closure. A domed lid may be obtained by lengthening the sides of the flaps.
