Abstract

198,408. Morris, W. G. Feb. 23, 1922. Balls.-The cover of a golf ball is pressed on to the core in a heated mould, only sufficient heat being employed to mould the cover to shape and make a good joint between the parts of the cover. The ball is then removed from the mould and subected to a gas process of vulcanization, such as the Peachey gas process. The vulcanization process employed preferably entails no further heating. The material of the cover consists of india-rubber, balata, or gutta percha, or mixtures thereof and contains no sulphur.
