195,329. Aktiebolaget Ljungstr÷ms Angturbin. July 1, 1922, [Convention date]. Regenerators. - An air-preheater 13 of the rotating and regenerative type is mounted below a boiler system 6 in the space between the ashpit 20 and chimney flue 10. Hot gases from the furnace 7 pass over the boiler tubes and thence through the channel 9, preheater 13 and channel 14 to the flue 10. Heated air passes by the damper 19 to below the furnace 7. Dampers 11, 17, 18 control the flow of the furnace gases. The walls forming the air and waste gas passages are part of the brickwork of the plant. In a plant comprising two or more boilers the preheater may be divided into two or more parts.
