Alternating-current motors ; conductors.-To increase the starting torque, the rotor conductors of an induction-motor are formed of an inner core 5 of relatively g o o d conducting material, such as copper, and an outer sleeve or covering 6 of relatively poor conducting material, such as iron or steel. The end rings may be of a similar nature to the composite conductors. The conductors need not be directly short-circuited at their ends, but may be connected, for example, to starters of the eddy-current type.
