Abstract
477,251. Commutators for dynamoelectric machines. SIEMENS - SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. May 7, 1937, No. 13114. Convention date, May 8, 1936. [Class 35] A commutator for a dynamo-electric machine has a moulded insulation boss 3 with projections 4 reinforced by insulated metal rings 5 engaging recesses 2 in the segments 1, the metal rings being insulated before assembly in the boss. The rings may consist of one or more turns of iron, bronze, chrome-nickel or crucible steel wire, and the ends in the case of single turn rings may be soldered or welded together. The rings may be separately insulated with a textile or asbestos covering or with enamel or the insulation may embrace a number of rings. A metal bush 6 having a roughened outer surface may secure the boss to the shaft.
