Abstract
183,986. West, C., and Green, A. June 8, 1921. Folding seats; rocking seats; adjustments.- In a rocking chair of the kind having a back frame 14 and a seat frame 11 connected together at each side by pivoted links 17, 20, the lower links 17 constitute a base member by means of which the frames 14, 11 are supported normally out of contact with the ground, while the ends 11<a> of the links 11 are extended to form stops which can contact with the ground to limit the rocking movement. The ends of the frame members 11 may be curved in opposite directions, as shown, and the chair may be locked in adjusted position and against complete rocking, by a chain 35, the links of which may engage a tongue in the bracket 25. The chain 35 may be connected to the frame 14 through the medium of a tension spring 36 or a guided com pression spring. When folded, the sloped ends 38 of the links 20 may engage stops 37.
