340,743. Chairs. BOWLES, B. B. and MINTY, Ltd., 44, High Street, Oxford. Dec. 10, 1929, No. 37936. [Class 52 (ii).] In an upholstered chair of the type consisting of independent separable parts and comprising a seat frame 1 with side arms 2, an independent detachable seat cushion 16 and an independent detachable back rest frame 14, the lower edge of the back rest frame is formed with a downwardly extending projection engaged detachably in an abutment in and fixed relatively to the seat frame, the abutment and projection being obscured and preventing relative motion of the lower end of the back rest frame and seat frame when the chair is assembled. The projection may be in the form of lugs 12 engaging sockets 15 in the seat frame 1. The transverse bar 6, against which the back 8 rests, may be spring supported, as shown in Fig. 6.
