181,011. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Peters, J. F.). June 3, 1921, [Convention date]. Transformers.-The high-tension winding of a transformer with a core having two or more legs is wound repeatedly around each leg in turn, the winding having a high-potential connection at an intermediate point and earth connections at its ends. In the two-legged transformer shown, the winding comprises a series of coils 6 on the leg 4 and coils 7 on the leg 5, the coils being connected in series from leg to leg as shown. The middle point 9 of the winding is connected to a source of potential, while the ends 10 are earthed at 11. The high-tension current is thus divided into two paths which are evenly distributed about each leg of the core.
