Systems depending on the use of static transformers.-Transformers for high voltages have the end of the high-tension winding 2 connected to the middle of the low-tension winding 1 and to earth E, capacity current thereby flowing through both halves of the winding 1 to earth and setting up a field corresponding to the leakage. In Fig. 2 the three intercoupled transformers C - - C have their high-tension windings connected in series and A, B have a second lowtension winding 3 the potential of which depends on that of the winding 1 to which it is connected.
