Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; air tubes and chambers; tyre attachments to rims. - A cushion tyre a formed with spaced partitions a<1>, which may extend to the wheel rim, is reinforced at the edges a<2> by helical wire cores b encased in embedded fabric b<1>. An auxiliary cushion ring d, Fig. 4, which may be solid or hollow (in the latter case, inflated or otherwise) may be fitted over the tyre edges as shown. In a modification, a security-ring is fitted between the tyre edges. Fig. 6 shows a further means for securing the tyre to the rim, in which the beaded edges bare clamped between the rim-flanges c<1> and segmental plates f. The plates f are adjusted laterally by radially-adjustable conical-headed bolts e.
