Abstract

267,700. Mussen, T. C. March 1, 1926. Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; tyres with rims enclosing air chambers.-A tyre adapted for detachable connection to a wheel felloe, comprises a U-shaped rim 1 and a flexible cover formed by layers 2 of rubber and fabric and a rubber tread 3 which may be reinforced by fabric insertion 4 and a non-compressible ring 12. The parts 1, 2, 3 are vulcanized together, and the rim 1 may be riveted to a seating-rim 10. The edges of the rim 1 may be inturned (as shown), or may be covered with soft rubber beads. Fig. 4 shows the application of the in- Fentton to twin tyres.
