Controllers, actuating-mechanism for, electromagnetic. - In a motor starter operated automatically by an electromagnet 8 after the momentary closure of a push-button 11, the first action is to close an auxiliary maintaining-contact 9, the next action is to close armature rheostat contacts 2, 3, 4 successively, and the final action is to open a contact 10 which previously short-circuited fieldresistance R'. The various contact members are carried by a rock-shaft 1. The contact-members 9, 10 are mounted on a common lug 13 and constrained by springs 16, 18. A stop 24 meets the contact-member 10 just before the final action and gives it the required push off.
