Abstract
161,349. Jung, A. J., and Godward Carburettor Co. (London), Ltd. Jan. 26, 1920. Linear-dimension gauges for determining the diameter of small holes such as those in carburettor nozzles comprises a tapered needle A working within a casing D provided with a gauging-stop B, an index on the needle co-operating with a scale C on the casing. The needle is normally pressed out by a spring E. A screw A<1> working in a slot in the casing serves to move the needle and also acts as an index. In use the gauging stop B is placed upon the outer end of the nozzle and the needle allowed to enter the hole, the diameter being read off on the scale C. The needle is withdrawn into the casing when not in use, the screw A<1> entering a notch d<1> at the top of the slot.
