Abstract
160,895. Rosebottom, J. May 19, 1920. Spring surfaces.-In spring mattresses &c. of the type comprising upper and lower wire frames with vertical coiled springs disposed between them and having longitudinal and transverse wire members, the lower frame is made somewhat larger and constructed of stouter wire than the upper frame. The lower frame a is fitted with wires C, C<1> and the upper part b with wires D, D<1>, the transverse wires D' being spaced further apart than the longitudinal wires D. A number of springs F rest on the lower frame members and are tied thereto by thin wire, the upper frame resting upon the springs F and being secured thereto by wire ties f. Diagonal stay wires E may be used.
