Abstract

273,144. Marshall, J. E. L. Nov. 10, 1926. Mattresses.-Rows of vertical upholstery springs in a mattress are connected by longitudinal and/or transverse wires E, G having cranked portions E<1>, G<1> which project through the upper turns of the springs, the cranks of adjacent rows being connected by links F. The outer springs are clipped to a marginal frame J of flat steel. The lower ends of the springs are supported upon cross-bars B of an angle-iron frame A and are fixed by cranked wires D threaded through the lower turns of the springs and under the bars. The frame may be strengthened by additional cross-bars L.
