Abstract

158,297. Chadburn, W. R., (Rawlings Manufacturing Co.). Sept. 22, 1919. Door. holders; door stops. -A combined holder and and stop for doors &c. with automatic means for releasing the holder, consists substantially in the following arrangement :- A link 4 has a cam 13 on its underside and a movement-limiting projection 10, and is pivoted between cheek plates 12 which also carry a spring buffer cylinder 15. On opening the door a hook 1 is retained by the link 4, the spring buffer 7 preventing rattle between the parts. To release the holder the door is pushed sharply back, the inclined surface of the hook striking the cam 13, throwing the link 4 up, and thus releasing the door, which is assisted in closing by the compressed spring 6. Either the hook or the link may be secured to the door.
