Abstract

156,503. Heinl, F. Sept. 22, 1915, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors. -The choke-tube 2 is lifted by suction to vary the air passage around the nozzle 1, the suction being transmitted to the upper surface of the choketube through an annular passage s between the throat of the choketube and the bottom of a stationary diverging member 5 leading to the induction pipe. The choke-tube may be returned by a spring 3, or may be mounted centrally in an elastic diaphragm secured at its circumference to the carburettor casing. To prevent fluttering of the choke-tube, the annular passage s is made small or tortuous. Secondary air may be admitted through an adjustable opening 6. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the member 5 may be cylindrical. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
