Abstract
1533033 Reciprocating pumps MASCHINENFABRIK HILMA GmbH 23 Jan 1976 [8 Feb 1975] 02710/76 Heading F1A A radial cylinder pump comprises a plurality of high-pressure plungers 19 reciprocated by an eccentric 5a in pumping chambers 18 supplied with liquid, via annular channel 16 and inlet valves 17, by at least one low-pressure, feed plunger 13, the output of which is greater than the input requirement of plungers 19, the surplus liquid returning to the supply reservoir 10 via passage 3a, restrictor 25, crank chamber 26 and variable restrictor 27. Plunger 13 is loaded by spring 14, and restrictor 27 is adjustable to increase the pressure in chamber 26 to overcome spring 14 to reduce the stroke of piston 13, and hence the pump output. Delivery may be stopped by opening valve 24 connecting channel 16 to reservoir 10. Plunger 13 draws from reservoir 10 via annular channel 8 and check-valve 11, and delivers via check-valve 15. Plungers 19 deliver via check-valves 21 to annular channel 22.
