1527786 Insoles RED WING SHOE CO INC 9 Aug 1976 [19 Sept 1975] 33041/76 Heading A3B A plastics insole for rock climbing footwear, exhibits a reduced flexibility in the toe and adjacent region thereof by forming same tapering in the direction of the toe. As shown an insole 1 which is injection moulded from a charge of mixed polyamides comprises a first portion 2 of constant thickness in a longitudinal direction, extending from the heel to a toe portion 3 which tapers linearly towards the toe. The insole preferably has a constant thickness across any transverse section and may be incorporated into an article of footwear having a leather upper of which the edge is stitched or adhered between the insole and an outer sole.
