1524238 Roller dies EMBALLAGES COURONNE SA 10 Dec 1975 [30 April 1975] 50658/75 Heading B8T The roller, or rollers, of a capping machine for threaded necks of containers has a profile ineluding a first portion 22 complementary to the thread groove, and a second portion 24 formed by an extension constituting a cylindrical end shoulder on the lower side of the roller which prevents the edge of the cap skirt turning outwardly. A further portion 23 is preferably provided between the portions 22, 24, the portion 23 conforming to one half the profile of the thread land. The difference in diameter, (D 1 - D 2 ), between the portions 22, 24 is double the depth P of the thread. The depth of the skirt of the cap may be less than, equal to, or greater than the height of the thread on the container.
