Abstract

The machine comprises at least one sealing roller (21) adapted to form the skirt (16) of a cap (15), by forcing back the metal onto the screw thread (11) of the neck (10). The roller (21) has a profile with a first part (22) which complements the hollow profile of the thread (11) and a second part (23) formed by an extension of the first and constituting an end shoulder (24) of cylindrical shape on the lower side of the roller (21). The undesirable lifting of the edge of the skirt of the cap is thus prevented, which makes it possible to use caps having a short skirt, that is to say of a height which is less than that of the screw thread. <IMAGE>
