Abstract

1480954 Book covers W N JOHNSON 4 Feb 1975 [8 Feb 1974] 05975/74 Heading B6A A cover, e.g. for a paper-back book, comprises front and back cover panels 1, 2, hingedly connected to an intermediate panel or spine 3, the free edge portions of the inside surfaces of the front and back panels bearing adhesive strips covered by release paper 7, e.g. bearing double sided adhesive tape 6, one side of which is covered by the release paper 7. One or more paper-back books may be bound in such a cover by joining the spines of the books together with adhesive tape and adhering the existing front cover of the front-most book and the existing back cover of the back-most book to the front and back cover panels respectively. The panels may be formed from a single blank folded to form hinged panels, or may be separate blanks, e.g. of cardboard, provided with an outer covering of paper, cloth or plastics in the form of a single blank which forms the hinges between the panels. The outer covering may be ornamented. A tape book mark may be attached to the spine of the cover.
