Abstract
739,638. Bookbinding covers. D'HUY, F. P. Feb. 17, 1954 [Feb. 21, 1953], No. 4652/54. Class 16. A method of making a book cover comprises the steps of reducing the free edges of a sheet of cover material and hinges either side of a spine, turning the reduced margins over the adjacent material and fixing them thereto and finishing the cover in any conventional manner. Margins 1 and hinge portions 2 are removed from a sheet by any suitable method such as cutting or milling to leave back and front covers 3 and a spine 4, the spine 4 being slightly reduced if required. The edge portions 5 are then turned over the covers 3 and glued in position. The sheet of cover material may be in several plies, only the outer ply being left after removal as above.
