Abstract

A cleaning compound depending for its action on the production of aluminium hydroxide in gel form on addition of water, consists of a non-gyroscopic but water-soluble salt of aluminium mixed with a soluble or insoluble carbonate, bicarbonate, or percarbonate. A mixture of aluminium sulphate, anhydrous or hydrated, with sodium carbonate or magnesium carbonate is described. A bleaching agent such as sodium peroxide may be added.ALSO:A mixture yielding aluminium hydroxide in gel form on addition of water, consists of a non-hygroscopic but water-soluble salt of aluminium mixed with a soluble or insoluble carbonate, bicarbonate, or percarbonate. A mixture of aluminium sulphate, anhydrous or hydrated, with sodium carbonate or magnesium carbonate is described. A bleaching agent such as sodium peroxide may be added.
