Abstract

1452848 Open-end spinning machines FRIED KRUPP GmbH 15 Nov 1974 [17 Nov 1973] 49587/74 Headings DID and D1N In an open end spinning machine whose opening roller 2 is at least approximately coaxial with the spinning rotor 1 the opening roller is caused to rotate by the spinning rotor without making contact with it. This may be achieved by the entrained airflow of the spinning rotor or as shown by a magnet 15 in the opening roller which induces eddy currents in the spinning rotor and hence generates a magnetic coupling. The strength of coupling is adjustable by means of a screw pin 7 on which the opening roller is mounted and which is axially adjustable. Adjustment may alternatively be by means of an hydraulic piston cylinder assembly.
