Abstract

590,400. Roller stands for spinning &c. machines. CASABLANCAS HIGH DRAFT CO., Ltd., and NOGUERA, J. April 19, 1945, No. 9887. [Class 120 (ii)] A stand for the drafting rollers of spinning &c. machines comprises a base portion 1 and an upper roller-supporting portion 2 pivotally connected together, as by bolts 10, 41 which pass through arcuate slots 44, 21, each bolt being clamped in its adjusted position by a sunk head and ring nut manipulated by a key taking into a shaped cavity in the head. The vertical and pivotal adjustment of the support 2 is effected by links .17, 23 threaded in reverse directions at their ends, which take into tapped rotary plugs and are adjustable by a screwdriver. The front roller is carried in a bearing 36 and the intermediate and back rollers are carried in blocks 32, 33 adjustably clamped to the support 2. A cavity 6 in the base 1 is stated to accommodate the bars of an automatic regulating arrangement. The bearing sleeves may be of the porous-metal oil-retaining type. The portions 1, 2 of the stand may be die-cast.
