Abstract

917,702. Jaw-breakers. BAXTER Ltd., W. H. June 16, 1959 [June 18, 1958], No. 19493/58. Class 59. A jaw-breaker comprises a fixed jaw 2 and a pivoted jaw stock 5 operable by a member 20 mounted on an eccentric part 17 of a driving- shaft 13, the member 20 being interposed between a pair of toggle plates 28, 29 each having one end pivotally engaging the front and rear faces respectively of the member 20 on different horizontal planes, the other ends of the toggle plates pivotally engaging respectively the rear face of the jaw stock and an adjustable stationary abutment 34. The member 20 is mounted on the eccentric part 17 with the interposition of two sets of roller bearings spaced apart by an annular ring, the roller bearings being provided with dust-excluding means. The shaft 13 is mounted in roller bearings furnished with dust-excluding means. The fixed jaw and the jaw 6 of the jaw stock are each of two-part construction with the upper part overhanging the lower part.
