Abstract
1436353 Packaging containers V JANHONEN 16 Nov 1973 [20 Nov 1972] 53374/73 Heading B8C A packaging container for packaging products of flattish shape, such as books, papers, records, tape cassettes, &c., comprises a bracing board to which is attached a bag-like, or tubular, part 2; the bracing board 1 is folded to simulate the covers of a book around the bag-like or tubular part 2; and the side faces of the part 2 which has not been folded at the side edges, are, at least in their central areas but not at the margins adjacent the side edges, adhered to the facing surfaces of the bracing board. When the bracing board is opened into V-shape the mouth of the bag-like, or tubular part, 2 also opens, the stress in the bend of the bracing board tending to open the mouth of the container. The latter is adapted to be used in a packaging machine for four packers at a rate of 8000 per hour, goods being dumped in the package as it is opened by the stress in the fold of the board 1, and the package being closed by pressing the upper edges of the board together and fastening them with a clip. The bend of the board 1 may have a V- or a U-shape. The fixing area of the bag-like or tubular part 2 may be close to the sides of the board so that only an opening of the board halves sufficient for the insertion of goods is possible.
