Abstract

The packing is for a number of cosmetic items varying from medium to small in size, using shrinkable plastic sheet and flat stiffening material, partic. cardboard. Flaps (8) of the sheet are fixed to two or more opposite edges of the stiffening material (1), these shrinking only at right angles to the edges concerned. They are folded over the top of the items loaded into the box etc. and welded together, being then shrunk onto the contents by heating to seal the box. The stiffening material can be an oblong rectangular sheet of cardboard with transverse fold lines at intervals, the flaps being anchored between two adjacent lines along the lengthwise edges. After shrinkage of the flaps, the sheet is folded along all the lines referred to, its transverse edges being joined together above the flaps.
