Abstract
1393596 Tape dispensers METO - GES OSCAR KIND mbh 25 May 1972 [27 May 1971] 24761/72 Heading A4G [Also in Division B8] A label support tape has wave-like edges which engage corresponding projections 25 on a transport roller 4 having slip rings 5 on its periphery. The roller 4 is driven in steps by a U-shaped part 7, pivoted on the roller axis 18, having a pivoted gripping part 8 with dogs 20, which engage the projections 25 when part 7 is pivoted in the transport direction, and which on movement in the opposite direction ride over the projections 25 while the roller is held stationary by a non-return ratchet engaging a central knurled surface 22. A guide 31 ensures that the tape engages the projections 25, and a spring 30 ensures that the gripping part 8 with its rail 26 of elastomeric material holds the tape against the rings 5 and that the dogs engage the projections 25. The rings, which are formed from an adhesive-repelling plastics material such as PTFE, enable slip to occur between the tape and the roller 4 to ensure accurate engagement with the projections 25. The U-shaped part 7 is pivoted by a system of levers acting on a pin 19.
