Abstract
1,056,035. Labelling machines. MORGAN FAIREST Ltd. Oct. 4, 1965 [Oct. 3. 1964]. No. 40370/64. Heading B8F. Bottle feeding mechanism in a machine for applying sealing labels over the wire limbs of wire stoppered bottles positions the bottles so that the labels correctly cover the wire limbs. Bottles B are advanced by a conveyer 16 and spaced by a worm 17 before entering a recess in an orientating wheel 19. Each recess has rollers to facilitate rotation of a bottle therein as the wheel 19 engages it with rails 23 and a belt 24. Rotation is stopped with the bottle correctly positioned for it to be fed to a further conveyer which takes it, held by a presser head, to a labelling station, when a recess 27 of a hook 26 pivoted at 28 engages the trailing wire limb of the stopper. Engagement of the hook, which is spring urged towards the recess, with the leading wire limb is prevented by an abutment on the hook camming it out of its path as the bottle rotates while the abutment is not effective to prevent engagement with the trailing wire limb.
