1359691 Pressurized dispensing container valve actuating caps GILLETTE CO 6 Sept 1971 [3 Nov 1970] 41454/71 Heading F1R In a pressurized dispensing package a one piece actuator cap is provided which comprises an annular wall including means for securing the cap to a container and an actuator incorporating a discharge passage, which actuator has an inlet end secured to the package valve and the outlet end secured to supporting structure outside the wall, and being otherwise unsupported. As shown in Fig. 1, the actuator comprises a spout 30 which is mounted in an opening 42 between fins 38 and is secured at its outlet 55 to the fins 38 by vertical webs 56 and has a structure 46, Fig. 3, which sits on a tiltable or vertically movable valve stem 19 the bore of which communicates with a rectangular crosssectional passage 50 in the spout 30. Pressure on a surface 54 causes the spout 30 to pivot about webs 56 to operate the valve. In a second embodiment, Fig. 11 (not shown), the spout (90) has a transverse hinge (112), formed by a recess on the underside of the spout, adjacent vertical support walls (97, 98) one on each side of the spout and each joined to the latter along an elongate region (108) parallel to the spout axis. In a third embodiment, Fig. 16 (not shown), the spout (162) is secured on each side to vertical walls (166) along elongate regions (170).
