Abstract
1301428 Pressurized dispensing containers ALUMINIUM SUISSE S A 19 April 1971 [16 March 1970] 24673/71 Heading F1R A self cleaning valve for a pressurized container comprises two non-intercommunicating chambers 28, 27 which respectively communicate with gas and liquid in a container, and a spring- biased plunger 20 having an orifice 30, which plunger is slidable from a position as shown in Fig. 6 in which liquid is dispensed through the orifice 30, through an intermediate position, Fig. 7, in which only gas is dispensed to purge the valve, and finally to a closed position in which the orifice 30 is obstructed. As shown, gas is admitted through an orifice 34 in the valve body 1 and an orifice 35 in a spacer 32. The plunger 20 has a fluted collar 21 which limits upward movement of the plunger. A resilient cap 3 holds the valve together. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), a sealing ring (18) is disposed in the gas chamber and frictionally but slidably surrounds the plunger and ensures gas only enters the plunger orifice during upward passage of the orifice across the chamber 28. The valve may be mounted either on the top of a container or at its bottom with any known means to communicate the chamber 28 with gas in the upper part of the container.
