Abstract
1357832 Electromagnetic relays A F KAY 26 Sept 1972 [27 Sept 1971] 44486/72 Heading H1N An electromagnetic switch has a plunger armature 18 with a cam 23 mounted for rotation on the end of the armature 18 extending beyond the end of the coil 16 and having ratchet teeth co-operating with detents 27, 28 which ensure that the cam rotates in one direction only on reciprocation of the armature 18. The detent 28 is a spring carrying a contact 30 which cooperates with a fixed contact 31. The notches 25, 26 between the ratchet teeth are alternately deep and shallow so that contacts 30, 31 are closed when the spring 28 is engaged in a shallow notch 26. In Figs. 4 and 5 a hexagonal cam 35 acts on a contact spring 28a and has teeth 36 on its face co-operating with spring arms 38, (40) acting as detents. A spring arm 39 (33) may act as armature back stop.
