[Class 38 (v)] One contact element of a pair is composed of a number of members side by side in resiliently laminated form, pressed into edge contact with the other contact element, in a direction parallel with the plane of the laminations. In examples, Fig. 1 shows a contact 2 made up of a series of stamped laminations or bent wire on a bar 7, preferably with a bulge 5 at the actual contactmaking point. Fig. 3 shows a rotary insulating element 12 in recesses 13 in the rim of which a doubly looped wire contact assembly 15 is fitted, to engage resiliently fixed contacts 17. Fig. 4 shows a blade-and-socket connection, elements 18 being clamped side by side to receive a plate plug 21. In Fig. 8, laminated elements 40 in yoke form are clamped at the top and of an armature 37 drawn downward against the pressure of a spring 45 on energization of electromagnet 36, to cause engagement with fixed contacts 42.
