396,738. Automatic exchange switches. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES., Wernerwerk, Siemensstadt, Berlin. Feb. 9, 1932, No. 3874. Convention date, Feb. 25, 1931. [Class 40 (iv).] A single-motion rotary switch designed to have the dimensions of an electromagnetic relay comprises a cylindrical magnet 1 with its armature 3 mounted parallel to its length on one side and the contact springs 4, controlled by the armature through a rod 27, on the other side. The armature actuates through a pawl 7 a ratchet wheel 13 on a transverse shaft 8 carrying the wiper bank 12 and contact-controlling cams 9. The bank 12 comprises an insulating disc carrying the contacts 11 and an arcuate feed segment 14 engaged by the opposite end of the wiper 10.
