Abstract

1357376 Chucks FRATELLI MORANDO & C SpA 18 June 1971 [31 July 1970] 28699/71 Heading B3B The jaw of a chuck comprises a jaw-member 1 which provides a workpiece clamping surface, the member being supported on a cushion 2 of rubber or similar material. As shown, the member 1 is located by a screw 3 received in an elastic bushing 4. In operation, the radial clamping face resolves itself, at the slanting interface between the member 1 and its surround, into two components, the axial one of which urges the member 1 against cushion 2 and thus urges a workpiece further into the chuck.
