Abstract

900,320. Machine-tool details. WILTON TOOL MANUFACTURING CO. Inc. March 6, 1959, No. 7873/59. Class 83 (3). [Also in Groups XXIII and XXV] A work clamping pad 18, Fig. 1, adapted for engagement over the rounded head 16 of a screw spindle 12, comprises a hollow chamber 22 in which the head 16 is retained by a split ring 25 engaged within an annular recess 24. The ring 25 may lock the members together or the recess 24 may be sufficiently deep to permit the ring 25 to expand and provide only yielding retention. A flared mouth 21 provides for easy insertion of the ring 25.
