Abstract

1354695 Chucks D TOMIC 9 July 1971 [10 April 1970] 17054/70 Heading B3B Apparatus for clamping chuck jaws 2 during machining thereof comprises auxiliary jaws 3 of channel configuration clamped to the jaws 2 and engaging a ring member 5. The auxiliary jaws 3 may include an abutment 3b against which the ring engages. The ring 5 need not be concentric with the chuck axis. The ring may engage the auxiliary jaws 3 internally or externally. The ring may be made in a number of disengageable parts. The auxiliary jaws 3 may be attached to the chuck jaws 2 to grip a workpiece.
