Abstract

1343436 Foldable building; hinges R PHILP 19 April 1971 [30 April 1970] 20807/70 Headings E1A and E2F In a foldable building of the type shown in Figure 2 wherein the wall and roof panels have side frames 28, 40 pivoted together at 49, 54, the pivotal connections are formed by a plate 132 welded to one frame and secured between two plates 135, 136 on the other frame by a pivot pin 137, the plates being so cranked as to maintain the frames 28, 40 in co-planar relationship land the pivot pin from the roof ridge 54 being removable so as to permit the roof sections to be folded down alongside the walls. The frames are preferably of U-sectioned metal, the webs of adjacent frames being secured together by longitudinal rods 29, 41 passing therethrough. Metal wall and roof panels 32 with insulation 34 are wedged between the flanges of the U-section and the rods 29 or 41. Tubular brace jacks 119 are secured to the frames by a pin and bracket arrangement as shown in Figure 11: the pin 116 may be welded to the frame. The frames 28 are bolted to angle brackets bolted to a concrete base, Figure 9 (not shown). (For Figures see next page)
