Abstract
1340207 Electro-photographic imaging XEROX CORP 21 Dec 1970 [2 Jan 1970] 60554/70 Heading G2H In the imaging process of Specification 1150381 using a manifold set comprising a structurably fracturable electrically photo-sensitive imaging layer sandwiched between donor and receiver sheets which are at least partially transparent, in which the set is imagewise exposed and separated while an electric field is applied so that the imaging layer fractures imagewise, the imagewise is effected by a contact reflex technique. A transparent drum for effecting the exposure is described. The process normally gives transparent images. Opaque images can be formed by either using sheets which can be rendered opaque after imaging (e.g. by evaporating off a liquid) or by transferring the portions of the imaging layer to an opaque receptor by a one- or two-step process. The manifold set may be uniformly exposed before the imagewise exposure.
